AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia sees great opportunity from the incoming virtual ASEF Editors’ Roundtable to be hosted by the Ministry of Information tentatively scheduled for Nov. 23-24 this year.

The insight was underlined by H.E. Meas Sophorn, Under Secretary of State and Vice President of ASEM Summit’s Side Events Organising Commission in an interview with AKP yesterday.

The ASEF (Asia-Europe Foundation) Editors’ Roundtable will facilitate rich knowledge, experience and skills among participating prominent editors across Asia and Europe, from which Cambodian journalists can learn and improve in the area, he said.

He added that it will also serve as a networking platform that Cambodian journalists can take advantage of for future cooperation and learning.

The event will be coordinated by the Asia-Europe Foundation, wherein about 13 editors each from Asia and Europe are expected to join.

The ASEF Editors’ Roundtable is one of sideline platforms of the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM13) Summit to be historically hosted by Cambodia in November.

Other ASEM13 sidelines include the Asia-Europe Forum on Women, Peace and Security, 11th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP11), ASEM Cultural Festival 2020, ASEF Young Leaders Summit, and 1st Asia-Europe Economic & Business Forum (AEEBF1).

Through subject to actual COVID-19 situation, the events are very likely organised virtually.
