Cambodia Recorded Some 165,000 Domestic Visitors Last Weekend

A total of 165,046 domestic tourists were registered over the weekend, from Feb. 26-27, according to Tourism Minister H.E. Thong Khon.

The figure shows a decline of about 17 percent compared to the previous weekend, and among the visitors, 157,443 were national tourists and 7,603 were foreign tourists, he said.

The most visited tourist destination was Preah Sihanouk coastal province, followed by the provinces of Pursat, Battambang, and Phnom Penh capital.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Provincial and Municipal Tourism Departments continued to enforce the implementation of safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) introduced by the ministry to prevent possible transmission of COVID-19.
