Cambodia Earns US$255 Million from Rubber Export in January-July Period

Cambodia exported 161,562 tonnes of dry rubber in the first seven months of 2022, a slight drop of 0.3 percent compared to the same period last year, according to a report of the General Directorate of Rubber.

The country earned some US$254.8 million from the rubber export in the said period, a year-on-year decrease by 6 percent, stated the report.

The Southeast Asian nation exports the commodity mainly to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and China.

Cambodia has so far planted rubber trees on a total area of 404,044 hectares, of which 310,193 hectares, or 77 percent, are old enough to be tapped, the report said.
