Cambodia Earns First Gold Medal at 31st SEA Games

Cambodia this evening won its first gold medal at the ongoing 31st SEA Games in Vietnam.

The first gold medal was earned by kickboxer Toch Rachhan after defeating Thai athlete, Arunno Sivapan, in the 57 kg category.

For the 54 kg and 67 kg categories, Cambodian kickboxers Kan Meng Hong and Lorn Panha got each a silver medal after losing to Thai athlete, Sungnoi Chaiwat and Vietnamese athlete, Nguyen The Huong, in the same evening.

Kickboxing is a form of boxing based on kicking and punching. It is practiced for self-defence, general fitness or for competition. It became a SEA Games sport for the first time in the SEA Games in 2019 hosted by the Philippines.
