Cambodia Earns a Gold Medal from Ju-Jitsu World Championship 2022 in UAE

Cambodian Jiu-Jitsu heroine Miss Khan Jessa this evening won a gold medal from Ju-Jitsu World Championship 2022 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

Jessa defeated her Spanish counterpart, Matthews Martin Naiomi in the 52-kilogramme-weight event.

Cambodia has sent three athletes to join the Ju-Jitsu World Championship 2022. Mr. Hour Senghong will be among the 69-kilogramme-weight contest while Mr. Thorn Andrew will challenge in the 62-kilogramme group on Nov. 3.

Mr. Seng Bunsong, President of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Cambodia, considered the competition as a good opportunity for Cambodian Jiu-Jitsu athletes to sharpen and develop their capacity for the SEA Games 2023 to be hosted by Cambodia.

The Cambodian-Mexican-American Khan Jessa, 21, has got many world titles in the past few years. She is also Cambodia’s gold medalist of 2022 Pen Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the U.S., Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia and ASEAN Games 2019 in the Philippines.
