Cambodia will consider to phase out the mandatory mask wearing order in a pilot province thanks to the high COVID-19 vaccination rate and low infection rate.
At the inauguration ceremony of 38 roads in Siem Reap provincial city this morning, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said the mandatory mask wearing removal can start with a district or a province or a region, for example Rattanakiri, Mondulkiri and Stung Treng.
Anyway, he underlined, people must continue wearing masks for the moment until there is a notice about the removal.
Taking the opportunity, Samdech Techo Hun Sen appealed to people to enjoy themselves during the upcoming Khmer Traditional New Year, but with strict health safety rules.
