Cambodia and Pakistan to Continue to Boost Bilateral Relations and Cooperation

Cambodia and Pakistan will continue to boost their good bilateral relations and cooperation, especially between their legislative bodies.

The commitment was made by National Assembly (NA) President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, and H.E. Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem, newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Cambodia, during their meeting at the NA Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.

Samdech Heng Samrin recalled the good cooperation between both parliaments, particularly in the field of parliamentary diplomacy by supporting each other in the regional and international inter-parliamentary forums.

Samdech Heng Samrin expressed his strong hope that the Pakistani parliament will participate in the 43rd AIPA (ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly) General Assembly to be hosted by the Cambodian NA in late 2022.

The NA president appreciated the good cooperation between both governments in the bilateral and multilateral frameworks, and encouraged them to continue to maintain and enhance their good cooperation in the priority sectors, especially trade, tourism, education and culture for the mutual benefits of the two nations as well as to contribute to peace and progress in the region and the world.
