Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair H.E. Prak Sokhonn will pay the first ever visit to Myanmar from Mar.. 20-23, 2022.

The update was made here yesterday by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, also Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, at the signing ceremony of the Exchange of Notes and related documents on the extension of Japan’s grant aid of approximately US$41 million for the Integrated Mine Clearance and Landmine Victim Assistance (Phase 2), and the Expansion of Water Supply System in Svay Rieng province.

The visit will mainly focus on the Five-Points Consensus endorsed by the ASEAN Leaders in April last year.

At a press conference at the end of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat held recently in Phnom Penh, H.E. Prak Sokhonn said during the visit, he planned to meet parties concerned and distribute humanitarian aid to a local hospital in Yangon. He is also scheduled to meet with all the ASEAN ambassadors to Myanmar because they are monitoring the situation there.
