Another Natural, Cultural and Historical Heritage Site to be Established in Prey Veng

Cambodia is establishing another natural, cultural and historical heritage site namely “Nokor Phnom-Chheukach Ba Phnom” in Prey Veng province.

The plan for the heritage site establishment has been discussed in an inter-ministerial meeting here in Phnom Penh on Wednesday under the chairmanship of H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment.

Representatives from the Ministries of Environment; Culture, and Fine Arts; Interior; National Defence; Economy and Finance; Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction; Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Mines and Energy; and Tourism, and from Prey Veng provincial administration joined the discussion.

In the meeting, all participants supported the feasibility study, and preparation of the establishment of the heritage site located at Nokor Korkthlok or Nokor Phnom historical area in Ba Phnom district.

They also agreed to conduct more specific study to determine location management and address possible negative impacts before submitting the proposal for the Royal Government’s decision.
