AKP Delegation Visits Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Centre

A delegation of the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP), led by its Deputy Director General Ms. So Sophavy, paid a visit to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) National Sports Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam this morning.

On the occasion, Mr. Pham Thanh Tu, Deputy Director of HCMC National Sports Training Centre, briefed the delegation about the Centre’s background, training activities, management structure, and digital management of its athletes.

For her part, Ms. So Sophavy expressed thanks to Mr. Pham Thanh Tu and colleagues for their warm hospitality to the AKP delegation, stressing that the visit was made possible through a very good cooperation between AKP and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

The AKP deputy director general further informed the Vietnamese side about today’s auspicious and historical celebration of the Royal Torch Lighting and Torch Relay Ceremony for the SEA Games and ASEAN-Para Games 2023, under the motto of “Sports: Live in Peace”, under the royal presidency of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, in front of Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap cultural province.

She attributed the above-mentioned celebration to full peace, security, and political stability of Cambodia.

Prior to the meeting, the AKP delegation visited the Centre’s field site, and took the chance to get train from VNA trainers on how to take photos and videos with Vietnamese athletes who were training hard for the coming 32nd SEA Games in May and the 12th ASEAN-Para Games in June in Cambodia.

The six-member AKP delegation has been joining a week-long training course on sports events coverage at VNA Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City since Mar. 19.
